August 2023

You might expect photos from August walks to feature a fair amount of sunshine and blue sky. Instead, most of this month’s pictures were taken under grey clouds or in mist and rain. The best of the weather was on Christine’s “Two Churches” walk, visiting the churches of Llanegryn and Llangelynnin. At least it stayed dry for Alun’s Coastal Path sortie on the Llŷn Peninsular. Rosie’s Manod Mawr walk didn’t happen at all because of the poor weather forecast but a few brave souls ventured out towards the end of the month to join Adrian on a misty, showery day in the Dyfi Hills. By contrast, when we walked with Gill R from Rhydyronen to Tywyn,(after a ride on the Tal-y-llyn railway), the forecast of rain all day turned out to be completely wrong. We had a couple of showers, and then n more rain until almost back in Tywyn! Let’s hope summer eventually arrives in September!

We’re always keen to have photos from our walks. If you have any to share with us, please email the programme secretary via the “Contact Us” page and we’ll let you know how to send them.
