December 2022

Walk leaders always worry about the weather as the day of their walk approaches. This is particularly so in the winter when poor weather is even more likely and a decision has to be made as to whether to go ahead with the walk or cancel. As a general rule, we prefer to carry on with the walk of we can, but sometimes the forecast is so bad that we are left with no choice. December was one of those months, with Derek’s “Cerrig Arthur” walk and Gill’s “Bird Rock from below” having to be cancelled because of wind and rain. Three other planned walks did go ahead, together with an extra pop-up walk courtesy of Gill, a shorter version of her Bird Rock walk on the following day when the weather was, if not perfect, at least dry! Here are some pictures from all four walks; Rosie’s walk from Criccieth, Jacky’s in Cwm Ratgoed, Jan’s in Coed y Brenin and Gill’s from Abergynolwyn.
