Considering how much bad weather we had in January, we were very lucky with most of our walks. We started the month on a rather damp and blustery day with a walk from Barmouth, led by Wynne. A week later Derek took the group on a fascinating tour of historic sites near Dyffryn Ardudwy when, after a wet morning, we had much improved conditions in the afternoon. Rita couldn’t have asked for a better day for her Taith Ardudwy walk while those on Jacky’s walk in the snow above Llanelltyd were pleasantly surprised to have sunshine in the afternoon. It was sunny too for Jan’s Llyn Gwynant walk. Finally, on a grey and chilly (but thankfully dry) day towards the end of the month, Christine led an interesting walk in unfamiliar territory to visit the little lake of Llyn Wylfa, above the Mawddach Estuary.
