May 2023

With our “official photographer”, Chris, currently put of action, we’ve had to rely on others for April’s photos. Many thanks to all who have sent their pictures of some memorable walks. Here are just a few of them.

May started out looking and feeling as grey and chilly as much of April had been, but what a change by the end of the month! Although the sun shone for the first walk of the month, Moel Crynddyn, we had to fight a spiteful, cold wind on the higher sections of the route. The following week, Rosie’s exploration of the quarries around Cwmorthin was plagued with mist though our spirits were not daunted! But by the time of Alun’s Barmouth Hills walk the weather had turned for the better and we enjoyed warm sunshine and wonderful views all day. Luckily, the good weather held for the other three May walks, John’s walk to the summit of Cadair Idris, Jacky’s on Moel Llyfnant and Henry’s to the top of Diffwys. Let’s hope the summer weather continues!

We’re always keen to have photos from our walks. If you have any to share with us, please email the programme secretary via the “Contact Us” page and we’ll let you know how to send them.
