October was a month of glorious autumn colour and often kind weather. That’s not to say there was no rain at all – that would be asking too much – but it was generally pretty mild and we were able to enjoy five lovely walks. The month started with an old favorite – Sarn Helen and Dolwyddelan Castle, led by Carol. Gill followed with her Bryn Eglwys Quarry walk, postponed from earlier in the year when the path had been blocked by fallen trees. We explored Nant yr Eira and the Dysynni Valley with Adrian, including a visit to Castell y Bere. And Liz led a short walk up to and around Llyn Cynwch on the afternoon of the Group’s AGM. The month was nicely rounded off in perfect conditions by Mike’s walk on lanes around Llanfachreth and the Precipice Walk.

Many thanks to this month's photographers. We’re always keen to have photos from our walks. If you have any to share with us, please email the programme secretary via the “Contact Us” page and we’ll let you know how to send them.
