Our gallery commentary often starts with a reference to the weather and this one is no exception. We enjoyed some pretty good weather on most of our September walks, though often rather chilly and breezy, but the one thing common to all was how wet it was underfoot. What seems like months of rainy weather has left much of the ground waterlogged and the advice was invariably “waterproof boots essential, gaiters a good idea”. That didn’t stop our enjoyment though – in fact we are getting quite used to squelching through bog!
Out photos this month are from Alun’s walk over the enticing coastal hill of Moel y Gest; Gill’s route past the medieval farmhouse of Nant-Pasgan; Rita’s climb to the top of Foel Ddu on the edge of the Rhinogs; Jacky’s romp along the little ridge of Carnedd y Cribau with amazing views of Snowdon; and Adrian’s interesting linear route from Minffordd to Dolgellau.
