Given how wet September was, it is surprising that only one of our planned walks had to be cancelled. The weather was grey for Rita’s walk to Llyn y Fedw in the Rhinog foothills and also for Alun’s linear walk from Llwyngwril to Barmouth. Liz got the worst of it with rain most of the day for her walk to the upper levels of the Clogau gold mines; the few who went along really enjoyed the walk but it wasn’t the weather for taking many photos! Only the two walks in the last week of the month enjoyed the good weather we can usually expect in September. Jacky’s walk in the hills above Clynnog Fawr provided spectacular views in glorious sunshine while Derek’s Llanfair and Capel Salem route glowed with autumn colour.
